Yoyogi National Stadium
Built as a venue for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, this stadium is a masterpiece by Kenzo Tange, one of the leading architects of the twentieth century. Adopting a suspension structure, the interior has no pillars, and it is characterized by the beautiful curves drawn by the cable-suspended roof. In August 2021, it was designated an Important Cultural Property. Night games are sometimes held there, including preseason matches of the Tokyo Great Bears and games in Japan’s volleyball league, the SV.League.
