Sento (communal bathhouses)
Communal bathhouses, or sento, are an integral part of Tokyo’s cityspace. Various types exist, ranging from traditional establishments featuring murals of Mt. Fuji in the bathing area to modern facilities incorporating DJ booths and dining spaces. They represent Japan’s distinctive public bathing culture and function as relaxing social hubs.
