Senso-ji Temple
Boasting nearly 1,400 years of history, Senso-ji is considered the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. Its numerous sights include the magnificent Main Hall; the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, a symbol of the Asakusa neighborhood; and a striking five-story pagoda that is illuminated at night. The vibrant Nakamise shopping street along the approach is lined with shops selling local specialties including Kaminari Okoshi rice crackers, fried manju buns, and Ningyoyaki cakes.
