Meiji Jingu Stadium

Opened in 1926, it is the second-oldest existing baseball stadium in Japan. It’s an open-air ballpark that, despite sitting in the heart of the city, is wrapped in the greenery of Jingu Gaien Outer Garden. The stadium is cherished as the home ground of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, and is where fans pop open plastic umbrellas all at once whenever a run is scored, waving them in tune with the Tokyo Ondo (a local folk dance song)—a famous sight closely associated with Jingu Stadium.
