YOKAI Immersive Experience Exhibition TOKYO - Imagination of Japan
This is the world’s first immersive digital art exhibition featuring yokai, supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore. You can look forward to depictions of oni ogres, long-nosed tengu, mischievous kappa river sprites and many other monsters, as expressed in the work of various artists from the Edo period (1603–1868) onward. Cutting-edge digital technologies like 3DCG, projection mapping, and holographic screens, as well as three-dimensional modeling, are employed to bring these creatures to life by way of art. Explanatory panels contribute cultural insights and explore how yokai have influenced modern pop culture.
