At the end of 2021, when gravure printing in Japanese publishing came to an end, artist Keiichi Tanaami created six gravure prints titled “TANAAMI!! AKATSUKA!! / Revolver” to commemorate the occasion. The series freely references, transforms, and reimagines characters from the work of Fujio Akatsuka, a comic artist known as “The King of Gag Manga.” This exhibition centers on these pieces and includes accompanying explanations, along with footage from a live performance that was part of Tanaami’s 2024 exhibition “Keiichi Tanaami: Adventures in Memory.”
