2026 TACHIKAWA ILLUMINATION
Centered on San San Road, the pedestrianized street extending from the North Exit of Tachikawa Station, this display of winter lights sees the 550-meter-long avenue of zelkova trees bathed in the glow of approximately 600,000 LED bulbs. The lights will be on daily from November 1, 2026 through January 17, 2027, from sunset until midnight. A gate marked “Tachikawa Illumination” stands at the entrance, and visitors can enjoy taking photos at the central photo spot, “Illumination Node.” More lights can be spotted throughout the surrounding area, including the street leading to the Akebono Gate of Showa Kinen Park. On the first day of the event, November 1, a parade for a special kabuki performance will take place on San San Road during the day, while the idol group Rosy Chronicle will perform at the lighting ceremony in the evening. In December, food trucks and market stalls will also be set up for the TACHIKAWA WINTER MARKET.
Note: This project is supported by a grant from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau for the promotion of night time tourism.
