Held on the second Saturday of August in the lush natural surroundings of the town of Okutama, the Okutama Noryo Fireworks Festival is a local summer tradition. Approximately 1,000 fireworks are launched from the summit of Mt. Atago and can be viewed from a wide area, including the vicinity of Okutama Station. With the echoes of the explosions reverberating through the nearby mountains, the event offers a unique sense of immersion unlike any other fireworks display.
