MUTEK.JP 2026 11th Edition
Founded in Montreal, Canada in 2000, MUTEK is a festival of electronic music and digital art. It has also been held in Tokyo since 2016, showcasing live performances featuring cutting-edge visuals and sounds, as well as media art. For 2026, the festival moves from Shibuya to a new venue, MoN Takanawa, inside Takanawa Gateway City, under the theme “New Cycle!”. Taking the stage on the opening day is British electronic music artist Max Cooper, who holds a PhD in computational biology and will present an immersive live performance combining 3D visuals and spatial audio. On the final day, November 23, the festival will welcome ‘PLASTIKMAN | POLYPHONIC FERMENTATION’, a new project by Richie Hawtin and Ali Demirel. Making its world premiere, this one-night-only program of audiovisual fusion is a must-see.
