SUMIDA Light Night Garden 2025 – Scenes of Light Reflecting the World of Edo

The historic Japanese garden Kyu-Yasuda Gardens will be specially opened at night for a limited period. This is the only time of year when the gardens are open after dark, and the illuminated autumn foliage creates a magical atmosphere completely different from the daytime scenery. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to enjoy it. Spend a beautiful evening surrounded by lights and autumn colors in an ambiance filled with the spirit of Edo. The Ryogoku area, where the Kyu-Yasuda Gardens are located, lies along the Sumida River and offers many spots where you can experience Edo culture such as sumo, the Sumida Hokusai Museum, the Japanese Sword Museum, and Eko-in Temple. Be sure to explore these attractions along with the illumination event.

Note: This event is sponsored in part by the Autumn Illuminations Model Business Grant, a program run jointly by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government & the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau.
