ITABASHI SAKURA WEEK

The cherry trees lining the Shakujii River are celebrated as one of the "Ten Scenic Spots of Itabashi." As part of the "saku × labo project"—a community-driven initiative dedicated to cherry tree conservation—the cherry blossoms will be illuminated once again this year. The section between Kubota Bridge and Nakaitabashi Bridge is highly recommended, where you can enjoy creative lighting designed to beautifully enhance the cherry blossoms.

Additionally, a "Sakura Marche" will be held at Illumi CafeWorks in Nakaitabashi, featuring a variety of stalls offering food and merchandise made from or inspired by cherry blossoms. Through this event, visitors can not only enjoy the festivities but also learn about the harsh environmental conditions currently facing the Shakujii River's cherry trees. It is designed to be an experience that marks the first step toward preserving their beauty for future generations.

Note: This event is sponsored in part by the Spring Illuminations Model Business Grant, a program run jointly by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government & the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau.
