HANAE MORI Vital Type: The 100th Anniversary of Birth
World-famous fashion designer Hanae Mori debuted at New York Fashion Week in 1965 and became the first Asian-born member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris in 1977. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of her birth, this large-scale exhibition—the first since her passing in 2022—presents the full scope of Mori’s creative work through approximately 400 pieces. Exhibits include haute couture dresses from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, numerous archival materials, and works exhibited for the first time. Furthermore, through interview footage with family members and friends who knew Mori well, visitors can explore not only her role as a designer, but also her personal life and philosophy.
