THE WORLD OF RESIDENT EVIL 30TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION
To mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Resident Evil game in 1996, the world’s first immersive exhibition featuring the franchise is taking place at the Shibuya BEAM gallery. Visitors get to relive the incidents and horrors experienced by the series’ protagonists through spatial design, video, and sculptures, with various elements of the games recreated on a realistic scale. The exhibition kicks off in a theater where scenes from throughout the series are projected onto a large screen, while in the “Evidence of Terror” section, visitors can view development materials and life-size sculptures of the villains up close. A life-size figure of Albert Wesker, one of the game’s main antagonists, will be unveiled for the first time. Also on display will be a figure of Alcina Dimitrescu, standing approximately 290 centimeters tall—so large you’ll have to look up to see her. An official shop selling exhibition-exclusive merchandise will be set up at the venue as well, making this a must-see show for fans.
