Asakusa Edo Atmosphere Creation Project

Asakusa flourished during the Edo period as the foremost entertainment district in Edo, with Sensō-ji Temple at its center. Even today in the Reiwa era, the area remains a vibrant international tourist destination that represents Tokyo, enriched by its traditional culture—such as fine dining establishments, geisha traditions, ukiyo-e, and kabuki.
As a project to pass Asakusa’s scenery and culture on to future generations, the town will be adorned with Edo-style decorations, and events will be held where visitors can experience Edo culture unique to Asakusa.
